A cluster of 'Whistling Jacks' Gladiolus Byzantinus grow just outside my studio accompanied by grasses that bloom at the same time, their stems swaying in the breeze. The fine lines of the grasses are a perfect foil for the boldly coloured Jacks and exploit the light reflective qualities of my textile collage technique which allows so much visual movement within the art.
