Miscanthus with Apple Tree

The only tree with fruit remaining on the branches in late November is a cider apple; a tree with branches sweeping to the ground and richly coloured fruit in red and gold. I leave these for my neighbouring badgers, foxes and rabbits. In the garden the miscanthus are in their full glory, with their tassle-like flowers moving in the wind. My favourite has a week or so when the leaves turn yellow before gales claim leaves and fruit and winter comes to the garden.
