Living in the far west of Cornwall near the Lands End, Amanda Richardson is deeply influenced by a sense of place. Cornwall has great diversity of landscape with a north coast where the granite bones of the land are stripped bare by wind and water and a soft underbelly with oak-wood lined estuaries. Amanda describes all the variety of surfaces within each landscape in her textile collages using silks, satins and velvets that shift and change with the light, creating changing moods within the landscapes of her art.
