Autumn Hydrangeas Trelissick

Autumn Hydrangeas Trelissick texile collage Amanda Richardson Artist
I have known the National Trust's Trelissick Garden all my life and love both its collection of plants and the amazing position with views of Carrick Roads, the estuary of the River Fal. Of all the plants that grow there the hydrangeas may be my favourite, particularly where they settle into the wooded landscape. In this textile collage I have included both a blue lace-cap hydrangea and Hydrangea aspera. They were still flowering as the leaves were turning in the woodland beyond. A reflection of the mild climate at this far southern edge of Britain.
